Why on Earth did we decide to go on an RV trip? Many have asked. They ask either with an sense of
awe or in
complete fear of spending three weeks in a large shoe box with three children 10 years old and under.
This all began as a late night conversation, possibly lubricated with bourbon (Lynsey) and gin (Brian). Last December we learned that Brian's first cousin would be getting married this summer in Wisconsin. Fun! We couldn't wait to celebrate with
Mary and Kane in Green Lake. We also learned that Mary was hoping that this event could be a kid-friendly, family-reunion kind of wedding.
So what began as a conversation about how to get our family of five to Wisconsin somehow blossomed into Brian convincing Lynsey that an RV would be a perfect way to make this trip happen. Somehow Brian convinced her. We test drove an RV- the kids loved that! We looked at options. Brian promised to take care of all sewage related issues and tasks. Lynsey worried about Brian's strong desire to "boon-dock," essentially stay the night in a parking lot, so she demanded to be in control of the itinerary. And then they decided. First it would be one week, but that just wouldn't be long enough. Then it was two weeks, to see more of the county and not rush to get out to the Wisconsin. Then is was three weeks, so we could make it all the way out to Wyoming to visit Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons.

We have spent the last 6 months planning. And the last three weeks packing! Lots of family helped, with trip ideas, activities for the kids on our route, and then assisting with picking up the RV this week and helping load it all up! We were ready- and we are off! Wish us luck!

| Joy on the first evening! |

 |
| Joy exploring our new RV's features-- and the first of many reprimands by me! |
